Clinging to the cross....

Greetings. Sorry for the long delay in posts. Our family has hit a very rough spot and we are currently unable to blog. Unfortunately, it will be a very long time until our next blog, so I will try to sum up the next couple of months for us.

We leave the Philippines November 11th and head back to Vancouver. We will be staying with family until either Tim's parents' house sells and we can move into a larger home with them, or God provides us with a place of our own. The last 3 years have proved to be the hardest in our lives, but they have also been the greatest testimony of God's mercy over us.

We are currently trying to put our Filipino lives together to immerse ourselves into being Canadians again. We could really use your prayers right now.

Among the stressors are just the sheer thought of moving across an ocean, living with family in a small space until we find a place to live, having to ship our belongings home, culture shock for the kids, buying winter clothes and other necessities on a Filipino budget, and some other very difficult circumstances. Please pray for our protection as a family, as we have been hit with some serious spiritual attack. Please pray for God's gracious provision and for peace.

Thank you all for reading these last 3 years and for your prayers, financial support, and encouragement. We are so very grateful and look forward to connecting with many of you in the near future.

Be blessed.

Psalm 118:23 - This is the LORD's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.
Isaiah 57:15 - For thus says the High and Exalted One who lives forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell on a high and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of he contrite."

We were moved to tears reading of the birth of Toby, what you all went through, and how you felt, yet remaining completely dependent on the LORD, and O how he answered the cries of His children! He has blessed you with a very handsome son who will be used mightily by the LORD. Promise will be his loving older sister to cherish him and encourage him. All the experiences you have had are not wasted in God's economy! All the friendships you have had in the Philippines are to the praise of His glory.
Thank you Tim for providing life giving water for so many in the Philippines, and for setting up a system of distribution for the future! May the LORD continue to bless this work for His glory.
We will be praying for you as you return to Vancouver! His grace will be sufficient for all your needs!
Bob and Alice and the Bible study group you blessed in Gresham.

Can you make it through today? Yes, with God's help. I KNOW how real His help is in times of trouble. Change and transition are never easy, but they stimulate us to grow. I bet it seems like the Lord is growing you really fast right now. Follow the Light, dear ones. You will be okay.
Love and Prayers,
Aunt Sylv
